These Galaxy devices could be among the first to receive One UI 8

Summarize This Article:

As a Samsung Galaxy user, I’m eagerly waiting for the One UI 8 update. It’s the upcoming One UI release based on Android 16. Currently, it’s available as a public beta for Galaxy S25 and as an internal beta for various other Galaxy devices. The stable One UI 8 is expected to launch soon, at least for the Galaxy S25 devices.

We’ve already shared a list of devices eligible for the One UI 8 update. However, it will take months for Samsung to roll out the update to every eligible model. Only select models will receive it within the next month or two.

In the past few weeks, the One UI 8 build has been spotted for several devices on Samsung’s servers. These devices are likely to be among the first to receive the update. While Samsung doesn’t follow a batch-wise rollout system, these devices are expected to get updated ahead of others.

There’s no doubt that the Galaxy S25 series will be the first to receive the stable One UI 8 update. Shortly after, it is expected to roll out to the Galaxy S24 series and older foldable models, followed by other devices. Here are the devices that might receive the One UI 8 update soon.

  • Galaxy S25/S25+/S25 Ultra
  • Galaxy S24/S24+/S24 Ultra
  • Galaxy S23/S23+/S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy S24 FE
  • Galaxy Z Flip 6
  • Galaxy Z Fold 6
  • Galaxy A56
  • Galaxy A55
  • Galaxy A36
  • Galaxy A35

As you can see, the list includes flagship devices from the past couple of years, along with select A series models. Since Samsung usually prioritizes A series phones right after its flagships, this order likely reflects the actual rollout sequence.

Thanks to Tarun Vats, who has been reporting findings related to One UI 8 builds and compiling these in a single post.

This list is based on assumptions and the firmware builds available on Samsung’s servers. Some devices not listed here might still receive the update earlier than expected.

One UI 8 is a crucial update as it brings many important improvements, as seen in the public beta. Major changes include smoother and faster animations, new animation effects, adaptive lock screen clock, and more. Early clips of One UI 8 shared on social media have already generated a lot of excitement, and as a user myself, I can’t wait to experience new features once the stable build rolls out.
