Samsung is working on the Android 16-based One UI 8 update, which will be the next major One UI release. Currently, the One UI 8 is only available in public beta for the Galaxy S25 series. However, it is undergoing internal testing for multiple devices.
Recently, the One UI 8 internal beta for the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S22 was spotted on Samsung’s server. While these two phones may not receive the public beta, internal beta testing has already begun for them. This means that Galaxy S24 FE and S22 users can expect the stable One UI 8 update soon after the Galaxy S23 series.
The One UI 8 internal build for the Galaxy S24 FE was spotted with build number CYG1, while the Galaxy S22 series was seen running build GYG1.

While this finding may not be a major achievement, it does confirm that the update is now in development. And since internal testing has begun, there’s a chance the build could leak to the public, which will give unofficial access to One UI 8 on these devices.
Thanks to Tarun Vats for the find. If you have a Galaxy S24 FE or Galaxy S22, you can expect the stable One UI 8 update to arrive on time, unlike the One UI 7 build. Also, don’t wait for the public beta, as Samsung usually releases it for limited devices, mostly select newer mid-range and flagship models.
One UI 8 is expected to improve the One UI performance by many folds and to bring some new features as well. While it may not bring as many major changes as One UI 7, there will be some additions. For example, it will also bring the Adaptive Lock Screen clock, which looks awesome. You can also expect some UI enhancement to stock apps.
