One UI 7 to feature redesigned Camera UI, first look inside

Samsung is undoubtedly testing One UI 7 internally, as we are seeing continuous information about the upcoming changes, such as new stock app icons. Now it has also been revealed that the stock camera interface is also getting a redesign with the One UI 7 update.

One UI 7 is expected to be one of the biggest One UI updates in the history. And all the rumors we get to know everyday about the upcoming changes proves the same. At this point, we already know so many things about the upcoming major update, thanks to all the leaks and rumors.

One UI 7 Camera App Redesign Look

An X (formerly known as Twitter) user chunvn8888 who has been continuously sharing changes coming with One UI 7 has shared some screenshots of the new Stock Camera UI, which looks different from the One UI 6 camera UI. The series of screenshots clearly suggest that with new UI, Samsung is aiming on making one-handed operation easier.

The horizontal menu bar that let you switch between different camera modes (Photo, Video, Portrait) now has a new place below the shutter button. And quick control options like aspect ratio, flash, camera mega pixel selector, motion photo, timer, settings icon and others have been moved to just above the shutter in the One UI 7 camera app.

Other camera modes that are accessible through More options now appear in the lower half of the screen rather than the full screen. These options include Pro Video, Night mode, Food, Panorama, Slow Motion, Hyperlapse, Single Take, Portrait Video, and some other options. You also have the option to edit their placement.

With these changes, users won’t have to reach the top of the screen to change controls, as all the tools can be found in the lower half of the screen.

One UI 7 new camera app icon

The same tipster had also previously revealed that the camera app icon is also getting a redesign. The new icon looks like a downgrade. But since there is still a lot of time for the One UI 7 public release, Samsung may change the camera app icon or further optimize it based on early reactions from users.

Samsung is close to releasing the first public beta of One UI 7, which may appear in August like last year. However it will be available for Galaxy S24 series only. One UI 7 is the next major update for Samsung phones and will be powered by Android 15. Samsung users can expect a long list of new features along with the trend of new AI features.
