The wait for the public One UI 7 release continues as Samsung rolls out another incremental beta update for One UI 7 on the Galaxy S24 series. The fifth beta addresses known issues including the annoying refresh rate drop reporting after unlocking the device and after certain situations.
Samsung is pushing the latest beta update to the Galaxy S24 line of devices ending with S928BXXU4ZYBF build number. It weighs around 450MB in download size, which seems like a big upgrade. The update will update default Samsung apps to a newer version.
As I mentioned previously, the stable release is still at least two months away for Galaxy S24 and other Galaxy devices. A recent leak suggests the public rollout could begin by mid-April.
In terms of changes, the update will fix known issues including the refresh rate drop after certain situations on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This is the only change mentioned in the changelog, however, we can expect more fixes and improvements.
If your Galaxy S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra is running on One UI 7 beta, you may have already received the incremental beta on your device. If not you can join the One UI 7 beta program. In case you missed the OTA notification, you can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
If the latest leak is true, then we might also see a couple more incremental betas for the Galaxy S24 series. It seems like One UI 7 is ready for public release and is intentionally delayed to favor the sales of its newest flagship smartphone – Galaxy S25 Ultra or it might be the case with new AI features.
The company has recently released an entry-level smartphone in India, dubbed, Galaxy F06 with One UI 7 Core based on Android 15 operating system. Not only this, but the mid-tier Galaxy A26, A36, and A56 are also set to release with One UI 7 out-of-the-box, but the update isn’t yet ready for older devices.
Last year, Samsung promised to push seven OS updates to the Galaxy S24 series. But they are unable to provide the first-ever major OS upgrade to last year’s flagship smartphone on time. Companies like OnePlus, Nothing, and Sony, already wrapped up with the Android 15 rollout, but Samsung is delaying the public release of its new skin month by month.
The exact reason for the delay remains unknown, but we expect Samsung to at least provide an ETA for the One UI 7.0 public rollout.
