Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy S25 series at the January 22nd Unpacked event. When everyone thought the event was over, Samsung pulled off its wildcard by teasing its long-rumored slim phone. If that wasnโt enough, the company shuttered all the rumors around its name by officially calling it the โSamsung Galaxy S25 Edge.โ
For those unaware, the device used to be known online as the โSamsung Galaxy S25 Slim.โ Although the official name doesnโt include the word โSlim,โ the smartphone is actually very thin or slim, whatever youโd like to call it.
This is How Thin the Demo Unit of the Galaxy S25 Edge (Slim) Looks in Real Life
If you follow Samsungโs product news closely, you may have seen images of the Galaxy S25 Edge dangling from a hook in its demo booth. If you havenโt, check it out below.
As you have noticed in the image above, two other dummy units are hanging alongside the Galaxy S25 Edge. We are not sure which phoneโs mockup these are, but we got the idea. It was Samsungโs way of saying thatโs how thin the Galaxy S25 Edge is compared to other phones.
Exactly How Thin is the Galaxy S25 Edge (Slim)?
Honestly, we donโt have an exact answer due to obvious reasons. When Samsung teased the Galaxy S25 Edge at the Unpacked event, it didnโt detail the specifics of the device. All it showcased was the design, internal components, and a dual-lens camera, which is now rumored to be a mixed bag of the non-Ultra S25 modelsโ cameras.
Besides, a report suggests that Samsung showcased the demo unit by mentioning that the final design might change at launch. So, thereโs no definitive answer to exactly how thin the Galaxy S25 Edge is. But one this is sure: Samsung wants the thinness of the Galaxy S25 Edge to stand out against other phones.ย
Previous rumors have suggested how thin the Galaxy S25 Edge (Slim) could be
Since you are here, we wonโt let you go without getting an idea of how thin the Galaxy S25 Edge could be at launch. Considering the rumors, the Galaxy S25 Edge measures 159 x 76 x 6.4mm. The third figure here is our best possible answer to your question. The Galaxy S25 Edge could come with a mere 6.4mm thickness.
If thatโs the case, the Galaxy S25 series would look much thicker when compared with the Galaxy S25 Edge side-by-side. In terms of thickness, the Galaxy S25, S25+, and the S25 Ultra measure 7.2mm, 7.3mm, and 8.2mm, respectively.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 from last year also doesnโt come close to the Galaxy S25 Edge in terms of thinness, as it measures 6.9mm when unfolded.ย
All that said, nobody can confirm if Samsung chooses to go with the rumored thickness for the Galaxy S25 Edge.
It could alter the design a bit more to make it even more thinner, who knows? All we can do is wait for the official launch, thatโs when we will know exactly how thin/slim is the Galaxy S25 Edge.ย
