Last month, Motorola began rolling out the Android 15 update for the Edge (2024), though the rollout is still in progress and not yet available to all users. Now the company has started rolling out the much-awaited Android 15 update to another Edge series smartphone – the Edge 2022.
Motorola Edge 2022 starts receiving the Android 15 update with V1ST35H.71-19 software version. The smartphone was launched with the Android 13 operating system. Last year, it received the Android 14 upgrade as its first major OS update. Now the phone is receiving its second and, most likely, final OS upgrade, which is approximately 2.2GB in download size.
The update is already available to many users; multiple Edge 2022 owners have received the new software upgrade. Here’s a screenshot shared by Reddit user u/oofio2461, revealing key details of the update.

In terms of changes, you will get access to the new lock screen customization features, updated quick panel, Gen AI emojis, new emoji stickers, improved connections, and more.
As I mentioned previously, the update is rolling out in phases, so if you want to check if the update is available on your device. You can head over to Settings > System updates > Check for system updates.
Before updating your smartphone make sure to take a backup of important data. Also, charge your smartphone to at least 50%.
