In December last year, Motorola officially announced the list of phones eligible for Android 12. Two months back, the company had kicked off the new update, Moto G Pro was the first phone which received the My UX-based Android 12 update. Last month, Moto G30 received the first major upgrade, and now its a time for the Motorola Edge 20. Yes, Motorola has started rolling out the Android 12 update for Edge 20. Here’s everything you need to know about the new update.
Motorola is seeding the new update on Edge 20 with the S1RG32.53-18-11 software version, obviously, it needs data for downloading compared to the incremental OTA upgrades. According to the users who have received the update, it weighs 1.08GB in size. Currently, the update is rolling in Brazil for the XT2143-1-DS variant, which will join more markets in the coming days. There are many users who have received the update, some have confirmed on Twitter, some on Lenovo’s community forum, so we can expect a wider rollout very soon.
Moving to the features and changes, then Motorola’s My UX based Android 12 comes with features like Material You, an updated notification panel, new widgets, and a bunch of security and privacy features. Apart from that, the update comes with a slew of customization options such as font style, size, colors, icon shapes, layouts, wallpapers, and more from the home screen menu. The update will also bump up the monthly security patch version and brings more stability. At the moment, the changelog is not available to us, but you can expect all above-mentioned features in this update.
Motorola Edge 20 Android 12 update
My UX-based Android 12 update is now available for Motorola Edge 20. If you own the Motorola Edge 20 in Brazil and want to update your phone to the new version, then you can head over to the Settings > System > Advanced > System updates and check for the new updates.
If the update is not available, you can wait for a few days or update it manually. Before updating your phone make sure to charge it to at least 50% and also make a backup of important data.
