Vivo shares list of phones eligible for Android 13 based FuntouchOS 13 update

It’s been two months since Android 13 became available for Pixel phones. But still, the upgrade is available for quite a few eligible Android phones. Most Android smartphone OEMs are testing the new software on their premium flagship phones and Vivo is no different. Vivo has been testing the new Android 13 upgrade on the flagship Vivo X80 Pro since May, the availability of the public build is still unknown, but now the company has shared a list of phones which are eligible for the Android 13 update.

Vivo has officially shared the Android 13 compatible models list on its social media handles, the company has shared an image through the FuntouchOS Twitter handle as well as on Instagram. And as per the image shared by Vivo, the company is set to upgrade over 20 eligible phones by the end of this year, whereas 17 other models will receive the new software in H1 of 2023. In total, the company is planning to push the new upgrade to 37 compatible phones. Obviously, the new software is based on FuntouchOS 13.

Talking about the rollout timeline, then the roadmap confirms the upgrade will be released first to the Vivo X80 Pro from the end of Sep 2022, which means if you own the Vivo X80 Pro, you can expect a new firmware upgrade anytime now. Although, your phone will first receive the beta build and then a stable upgrade in the next couple of months.

Vivo has big plans for the next month, i.e., November. Yes, the company is planning to release the new Android 13 based FuntouchOS 13 upgrade to at least 15 phones, including the last year’s flagship series – X70 series, V-series phones, T-series phones, and a few Y-series models too.

For December, the upgrade will be released for the X60 series phones. While other models will receive the new upgrade from H1 2023. Here’s the complete Android 13 rollout timeline for Vivo phones.

For changes, Vivo recently released the Android 13 beta to its sister brands phone – iQOO Neo 6. And the device received new update with features like more color palettes as we have seen in the stock Android 13, option to hide photos in the gallery app, brings new phone cooling features to the iManager, the ability to see the notification permission icon on the notification panel, and more. You can also expect the Android 13 essential features too.

If you own any of these Vivo phones and want to upgrade to the new Android 13 centric FuntouchOS 13 upgrade, then make sure that your phone is running on the latest available software version. If your phone is running on the latest version, then you can head over to Settings > System update, then tap on the gear icon at the top right corner and select trial version, and request for the new update.
