Vivo announces Android 13 preview program for Vivo X80 Pro

Android 13 is officially available for the Pixel phones. And now is the time for other smartphone OEMs to release the new upgrade. Today, Vivo kicks off the Android 13 preview program for its flagship Vivo X80 Pro smartphone. After testing the major software in mainland China, Vivo finally expand its availability to India.

Vivo officially confirms the announcement of the Android 13 preview program on its social media channels. And as per details, your smartphone needs to be running on the 12.0.12.7 software version or a newer version. If your Vivo X80 Pro already runs on the latest version, then you can participate in the closed beta program. There are only 500 seats in the program and is available on a first come first serve basis.

Vivo says “closed beta version may be unstable and incompatible”. At the moment, it is not good for daily usage. So, if you use Vivo X80 Pro as a secondary phone, then you can join the preview program. If you’re in a haste then you can try out the closed beta on your device.

At the time of writing, we’re not aware of the new features available on the Vivo X80 Pro Android 13 beta. But we can expect the essentials of Android 13, a newer monthly security patch, enhanced privacy tools, and overall enhancements to the system.

Now if you own a Vivo X80 Pro and want to access Android 13, then you can join the preview program. If your phone runs on the 12.0.12.7 version, then you can head over to Settings > System Update, then tap on the Settings icon on the top, and select Trail version, enter the required details. Once done, your application will be reviewed by Vivo, if there’s an empty slot and your application got selected, you’ll receive the update via special OTA.

Before updating your phone, make sure to take a backup of important data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
