After releasing the iOS 14.6 RC and iPadOS 14.6 RC early this week, now Apple has released iOS 14.7 Beta 1 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 1 updates. Last month also Apple surprised users with a beta update while the previous RC build was available. As we know that the iOS 15 update is going to be announced soon, this beta update may be the proof that we may get it sooner. Here you will know about iOS 14.7 Beta 1 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 1 updates.
As we already received two iOS updates this week, we can expect the same to be followed next week. Yes, we can see a second iOS 14.7 beta 2 along with the iOS 14.6 release to the public. In iOS 14.6 RC, we got to see some new features and bug fixes. And the main highlight of the update is the support for spatial audio and lossless audio which will be available soon starting June. iOS 14.7 Beta also seems to pack some new notable features.
Along with iOS 14.7 Beta 1 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 1, Apple has also released tvOS 14.7 Beta 1, macOS Big Sur 11.5 Beta 1, and watchOS 7.6 Beta 1. Both iOS 14.7 Beta 1 and iPadOS 14.7 Beta 1 updates are available with build number 18G5023c. And the update weighs differently depending on the device and iOS version you are using. There are some changes in both iPhones and iPads.
iOS 14.7 & iPadOS 14.7 Beta 1- Whatโs New
Surprisingly the iOS 14.7 Beta 1 comes with a modem update but with an older build compared to iOS 14.6 RC. In iOS 14.6 RC the modem version is 1.71.01 whereas in iOS 14.7 Beta 1 it is 1.70.03.
In the latest beta, there is a new MDM restriction. If you use Mobile Device Management, then you can disallow devices from adding AirTags. Apple also announced some new features like the new SignTime service which will help to communicate with sign language, new Memoji customizations, Accessibility but it will be available in coming iOS updates maybe in the next update. You can check more about it in the Apple Newsroom.
In the iPadOS 14.7 Beta 1, Apple added a new sidebar design for iPads. Yes, now you will have the sidebar opened by default if you are using your iPad in landscape. It will hide once you change the orientation of the iPad to portrait.
On the fixing side, the major update fixes the green tint issue. So, it could be possible that the green tint will no longer irritate you with this new beta. But we canโt confirm this as only a few users have reported as of now.
