Lava has started rolling out the Android 16 update for its flagship mid-range smartphone, dubbed Lava Agni 4. Launched in November 2025 with Android 15 on board, the Agni 4 is now receiving its first major OS upgrade. As expected, the update brings a host of useful features and enhancements to the device.
The update is rolling out in a staged manner and is currently available to a limited number of users. The rollout was first spotted by tipster Abhishek Yadav. As per the details, the update goes live with LAVA_LXX525_SW_B_V04_HW_V1.0_20260327 build number. As it is a major OS upgrade, it weighs a whopping 4.21GB of download size. Please ensure you have enough space for installation.
Lava is rolling out the Android 16 upgrade with a bunch of new features, a February 2026 monthly security patch, and a big list of fixes. Among the resolved issues are a malfunctioning “Don’t Suggest App” option, screen flickering while replying to messages from the lock screen via WhatsApp, YouTube screenshot capture issues, and display color inconsistencies, among others.

- An issue where the “Don’t Suggest App” option was not functioning correctly has been resolved. The system now accurately respects your preferences for personalized app suggestions.
- WhatsApp Lock screen reply
- A fix has been implemented for an issue where the screen would flicker while replying to WhatsApp messages directly from the lock screen. The transition is now seamless and stable.
- YouTube screenshot capture
- A refined screenshot behaviour has been introduced for YouTube. When capturing a screenshot via the Action Key, Ul elements such as the video title and playback controls are now automatically excluded, ensuring a clean capture of the video content.
- Display color consistency
- An issue where a slight color variation appeared at the top of the display after unlocking the device with a dark wallpaper has been fixed. The screen now maintains consistent colour accuracy across the entire panel.
