While we are all waiting for the stable Android QPR1 release, which is scheduled for December. Google surprised everyone today with the release first beta of Android 15 QPR2. The update brings some new additions to Android alongside the system-wide enhancements.
Google has officially shared the details of the new software upgrade. The beta update is seeding with the BP11.241025.006 software version. If you own the Pixel 6 or newer Pixel smartphone, you can update it to the Android 15 QPR2 beta 1 update. The update will bump up the monthly security patch version to November 2024.
For unawares, the QPR, aka, Quarterly Platform Releases, carries more big changes and features compared to monthly updates. Google usually tests new features with the QPR releases. The latest update brings a Linux Kernel update, Modes rebranding for DND, the addition of Linux Terminal app, and more. Apart from these features, we can expect system-wide enhancements.
Android 15 QPR2 beta 1 goes live for users who have opted for the beta program. If you want to continue your Android 15 beta journey, you can go ahead with this beta update. You can ignore this update if you want to switch back to the upcoming stable release.
If you want to continue the beta, you can go to the Software/System update page in Settings, and install the update. Don’t forget to take the backup before installing the update.
