Last month, Google officially kicked off the Android 15 software upgrade for Pixel phones and tablets. Later, other smartphone makers started rolling out software upgrades for their devices in the form of beta or stable updates.
Chinese smartphone makers, Vivo and OnePlus have already released a stable update for a couple of devices. But what about the Finnish independent phone manufacturer, HMD Global?
If you own a smartphone by HMD or a discontinued Nokia phone and want to know whether your phone will receive an Android 15 update, we have some insights for you.
Earlier this year, HMD transitioned away from the Nokia branding and introduced a range of new phones under its own HMD brand. The portfolio has more than 8 phones. Talking about the discounted Nokia phones, then as per the company’s software policy there are some phones that will get Android 15 update in the future.
HMD has clearly mentioned how many software updates will each phone receive and after analyzing every phone, we curated a list of phones that are eligible for the Android 15 update.
HMD Global is already testing the Android 15 update on a couple of phones. We’ve seen the HMD Pulse and HMD Skyline spotted running on Android 15 on Geekbench. We expected the company to release a stable update soon.
If you own one of these devices, you can expect to receive the anticipated software upgrade by the end of this year or early next. The company typically releases updates for older Nokia phones around this timeframe, and we can anticipate a similar schedule for HMD phones.
