Google Squashes Six Bugs with November Security Update on Pixel Devices

Google has released the first incremental upgrade after the Android 15 release for Pixel devices. The update brings the November 2024 Android Security patch, bug fixes, and system-wide enhancements.

The Pixel November update addresses several issues, including lower Bluetooth range, screen brightness flickering on Pixel 8a, camera tilt issues on the Pixel 9 lineup, and Touch and Sensor issues.

Google is pushing the new software upgrade to Pixel devices with the AP3A.241105.007 firmware version. Like previous monthly updates, it is small in size, you can quickly update your Pixel to the newest software upgrade. The update is available for Pixel 6 and newer models including Pixel Tablet and Fold.

Here’s the complete list of changes coming with the new Pixel November 2024 security update.

  • Bluetooth
    • Fix for issue with Bluetooth range under certain conditions*[3]
  • Camera
    • Fix for issue observing camera tilt when zooming between cameras under certain conditions*[3]
  • Display & Graphics
    • Fix for issue causing white dots to flash under certain conditions*[3]
    • Fix for issue with screen brightness flickering under certain conditions *[3]
  • Sensors
    • Fix for issue occasionally preventing Adaptive brightness from activating in certain conditions*[3]
  • Touch
    • Fix for issue in pressing the keyboard dismiss button in certain conditions*[3]
  • User Interface
    • General improvements for performance and stability in certain UI transitions and animations*[1]

The update is already rolling out to the unlocked Pixel devices, you will receive the OTA update on your device in a matter of time. If you have a carrier-locked device, however, you may need to wait a bit longer to gain access to the new software.

Once the update is available on your device, you can tap on it and download the update or simply head over to Settings > System > Advanced > System update and install the new software.

You can also manually install it on your Pixel phone by sideloading the update. The factory images and OTA files of November 2024 update are already available. But make sure to take a backup before sideloading the new software.
