Last week Apple released the iOS 15.7.1 release candidate alongside iOS 16.1 RC. And a week later Apple now releases iOS 15.7.1 to the public. It is available to all users who are on the iOS 15 build. This is an important update for iOS 15 users. Here’s what’s new in the latest update.
Apple has already released the iOS 16 update but still many users are holding back from upgrading their phones to the new update due to the existing bugs. And if you are also holding back then you have a new update to which you can also upgrade.
Along with the iOS 15.7.1 update, Apple also releases iPadOS 15.7.1. Also, some public beta updates released by Apple for the latest iOS and macOS beta builds. Both iOS 15.7.1 and iPadOS 15.7.1 comes with build number 19H117. It is a different build number than the release candidate released last week. The update weighs around 600MB.
Talking about changes, the latest iOS update only comes with critical security updates and many bug fixes. Many had reported that the release candidate build broke the face ID, but looks like it has been fixed in the public build. Here are know changes you can find in the latest update.
- New Modem update
- Multiple bug fixes
- Important security updates (all security updates here)
If you are on the release candidate build you need to remove the beta profile to get this update as it comes with a different build number. And if you are on an iOS 15.7 build you can directly update to the latest update. To manually check for the update go to Settings > General > Software Update. You will see two updates iOS 15 and iOS 16 (if your device is eligible for iOS 16). Choose iOS 15 to install its latest update.
Before updating your iPhone to iOS 15.7.1 make sure to take a backup of important data and charge it to at least 50%.
