Apple released watchOS 7.6.2 update with security improvements

Two months back, Apple released watchOS 7.6.1 update with security improvements for Apple Watch. Now the watchOS 7 iteration receives yet another new update, this one is slated as watchOS 7.6.2. It is also an important security update, is available for everyone. The update goes live ahead of the watchOS 8 release. Read along to know more about watchOS 7.6.2 update.

Apple kicks-off the newest incremental Apple Watch update with 18U80 build number. The latest watchOS 7 update was measure around 64MB in size, talking about today’s release, then it weighs around 70MB of download size. You can quickly download this update on your Apple Watch. As always the update is available for Apple Watch series 3 and newer models.

Talking about the changes, then as per the Apple’s security notes, watchOS 7.6.2 comes with a CoreGraphics fix, that has been actively exploited. Impact: Processing a maliciously crafted PDF may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.

Download watchOS 7.6.2 Update

iPhone users running on iOS 14.8 can easily sideload the latest watchOS 7.6.2 update on their Apple Watch. The update is available to Apple Watch series 3 or newer models. You can follow the below steps to update your Apple Watch to the newest build.

Note: You’ll not lose any data if you update your Apple Watch through the airborne update (aka OTA).

  • Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged to at least 50% and connected to the charger.

  5. Tap on Agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. Once done, tap on install.
  7. That’s it.
