Google has been diligently working on improving the automotive infotainment experience with Android Auto. The tech giant has already released two big updates to Android Auto, v11.1 was released in January, while the v12 was released in May. Now the company has started rolling out the Android Auto 13 update.

Despite the jump from version 12 to 13, the latest update doesn’t bring any user interface changes. However, folks over at 9to5Google decompiled the newest APK and shared some insights that confirm some features in work, including Car Media. The feature has been in the works for the past few months, it will allow users to listen to the radio without leaving the Android Auto interface.

Following the previous trends, Google didn’t mention any changes in the changelog. We can only expect system-wide enhancements with the new software upgrade. The update is rolling out in different phases, currently available to select users with a broader rollout will begin in the coming days.

Make sure the Android Auto is updated to v12.9.6438 on your smartphone, you will receive the v13.0.6440 update over the air. You can check for the new updates on the Google Play Store. If the update isn’t yet visible on the Play Store, you can sideload the APK manually on your smartphone.

If you want to sideload the new version, you can navigate to APKMirror and download the v13.0.6440 APK. After downloading the APK file, you can head over to the file manager > downloads > and install the downloaded APK on your smartphone.

If you spot new features after installing the update, feel free to share with us in the comment box.
