Android 15 QPR2 Beta 3 addresses a bunch of known issues

Google is diligently working on improving the user experience on Pixel smartphones and tablets. The tech titan has released the third beta of Android 15 QPR2 which squashes a big list of issues to provide an even smoother experience. The incremental upgrade comes after two weeks of beta 2.1’s release.

The eligibility criteria to access the latest beta remains the same, if you own a Pixel 6 or newer model, you can upgrade your Pixel to the Android 15 QPR2 beta 3. Here’s the complete list of devices compatible with the latest update.

  • Pixel 7 and 7 Pro

  • Pixel Fold
  • Pixel Tablet
  • Pixel 8 and 8 Pro

  • Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9 Pro Fold

Google is pushing the gradual software upgrade with the BP11.241121.013 version number and weighs approx. 400MB in download size. The new update bumps up the monthly security patch version to January 2025.

Developer- and user-reported issues

  • Fixed issues that could cause a device to restart when making a phone call. (Issue #379051274,ย Issue #390594506)
  • Fixed an issue where trying to resume an app from the app overview would return to the home screen instead. (Issue #385017194)
  • Fixed issues where the language picker menu (accessed by long-pressing the spacebar) changed the window, which caused the IME to hide in apps that had set their softInputMode to STATE_ALWAYS_HIDDEN. (Issue #388201594,ย Issue #386972825)
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused a clicking sound in the background while recording video. (Issue #385998260)
  • Fixed an issue that caused wireless charging to stop functioning in some cases. (Issue #379301921)

Other Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue that could cause devices to crash after starting an exercise on a connected Wear OS device.
  • Fixed an issue with null pointer exceptions that sometimes caused the system UI to crash.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Android Beta Feedback app to crash sometimes when submitting a bug report.
  • Fixed various other issues that were impacting system stability, connectivity, and interactivity.

Android 15 QPR2 beta 3 is now available for users who have opted for the beta program. If you want to continue your Android 15 beta journey, you can go ahead with this beta update. You can ignore this update if you want to switch back to the upcoming stable release.

If you want to continue the beta, you can go to the Software/System update page in Settings, and install the update. Donโ€™t forget to take the backup before installing the update.
