What is Circle to Search?
Circle to Search is a new tool by Google that has been showcased on the Galaxy S24 lineup at the Galaxy Unpacked event.
With Circle to Search you can directly circle anything on your screen and search for more information about the product without having to switch or change apps.
Do you remember Google Lens and its ability to search for images based on pictures that you would upload to the app? With Circle to Search you can simply circle the object on your screen. Whether it’s a video or a still image, you can search for more details with ease.
Using the Circle to Search feature on your Android smartphone is simple and quite easy. All you need to do is simply open the video or the image that has a particular product that you want to look for. Long press the home button to trigger Cricle to Search, then simply scribble, highlight, or circle the item you want to search for.
Circle to Search – Supported Devices
As of now, only Samsung’s S24 lineup gets to enjoy this brand-new Circle to Search feature. Yes, not just the S24 Ultra, but also the S24+, and the base S24 also gets to make use of this new feature.
Google’s own Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are scheduled to receive the Circle to Search feature from the 31st of January, 2024. This feature might also make its way to other premium Android flagships in the coming months.
Samsung Devices to Get Circle to Search Feature
Circle to Search as well as other AI features on the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup are a package of Galaxy AI. With that being said Circle to Search and a couple of other AI features are expected to be made available to the following Samsung smartphones.

It looks like only the flagship tier devices from Samsung that were released last year are eligible for the Galaxy AI and Circle to Search feature update.
Why is it not available for all other Samsung Galaxy devices that were released last year? Well, it is simply because the SoC that is present on the other mid-range and low-end smartphones; does not have the capabilities to run AI processes on the device right away.
But, can we expect a few of these AI tools to sneak their way into newer devices that are being released later this year by Samsung? It could be possible. Considering that the Exynos variant of the S24 and S24+ also have these AI capabilities, it is safe to say we could see Galaxy AI on devices powered by other Exynos SoCs.
