Redmi Note 9 is the latest Xiaomi device receiving the Android 11 update. The update is available with the old MIUI 12. Redmi Note 9 received the MIUI 12 based on Android 10 last year. Till now almost all the Redmi Note 9 phones got the Android 11 update. And finally, the vanilla Redmi Note 9 is also getting the stable Android 11 just like its siblings.

The phone is available in China with the name Redmi 10X 4G which has already got an update in its homeland. And now the update is rolling out for the Global and Russian model. The phone was launched last year with Android 10 based MIUI 11 out of the box. And later last year it also received the MIUI 12 update.
The Redmi Note 9 Android 11 update is rolling out with build number V12.0.1.0.RJOMIXM and V12.0.1.0.RJORUXM for Global and Russia respectively. Since it is the major update there will be no surprise if you receive an update that weighs more than 1GB.
Talking about new features then expect major changes. It includes most of the Android 11 features like Chat Bubble, Improved Privacy, better notification, and more. You can expect the same features as Android 11 for other Xiaomi phones. And also expect boot in performance.
As you know the update is currently available for Global and Russia variants, other regions will get the update soon. So, if you are a Redmi Note 9 user in Global and Russia then you will get the update soon. The update is available as a Stable beta which will be available to limited users at first. And soon it will be available widely.
June 25th: Redmi Note 9 Pro Max now receives Android 11 update
Xiaomi now pushes Android 11 update to the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India. The latest update seeds with V12.0.1.0.RJXINXM software version. The new software comes with a slew of optimizations and also reduced the system lags. As for now, the update is limited to the pilot testers, we can expect it will be available to everyone in the coming days.
