Xiaomi kicks off stable HyperOS 3 rollout for Xiaomi 15 and 5 More Phones

Summarize This Article:

Three months back, Xiaomi kick-started the Android 16-based HyperOS 2.3 update to select phones via a pilot release channel. Today, the company has finally started rolling out the stable Android 16-based HyperOS 3.0 update to several devices, including Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, Xiaomi 15S Pro, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Redmi K80 Pro, and Redmi K80 Ultra.

Xiaomi plants the new software upgrade on the Xiaomi 15 Pro with 3.0.3.0.WOBCNXM firmware version. The update on the company’s flagship phone weighs a whopping 7.7GB in download size, meaning you must have 8-10GB of empty space on your device. The remaining phones are receiving the new software upgrade with the following build numbers:

  • Xiaomi 15: 3.0.2.0.WOCCNXM
  • Xiaomi 15S Pro: 3.0.4.0.WODCNXM
  • Xiaomi 15 Ultra: 3.0.2.0.WOACNXM
  • Redmi K80 Pro: 3.0.2.0.WOMCNXM
  • Redmi K80 Ultra: 3.0.2.0.WONCNXM

True to its word, Xiaomi met its October 15 deadline and released the stable update as promised. For the time being, the update is rolling out in mainland China. Global users won’t have to wait long; we can expect the global stable release to begin by the end of this month or early next month.

HyperOS 3 boasts a slew of new features, including a revamped visual interface, Super Island (Dynamic Island-style notifications), cinematic lock screen wallpapers, smoother animations, and more. Apart from these features, you can expect newer security patches and system-wide enhancements.

Now, if you own any of the above-listed Xiaomi devices and want to update to HyperOS 3 based Android 16 update, you can check for new updates by navigating to Settings > About phone > System update (or tap the HyperOS banner at the top) and tap “Check for updates”.

Before updating your device, take a backup of important data and charge your phone to at least 50%.
