The camera is the centerpiece attraction of every Pixel smartphone and the new Pixel 9 phones are no different. Google launches the new Pixel 9 lineup with several new camera features, supported by the new Pixel Camera 9.5 app (formerly the Google Camera app).

Now that these new phones are available to reviewers and testers, someone extracted the latest Pixel Camera app and uploaded it on APKMirror. The new app isn’t yet available through the Play Store, it should be released for compatible phones in the coming days. It will be interesting to see what new features will be released for older devices.

Folks over at 9to5Google tried the newer app on the Pixel 8 Pro and noticed some changes. One of the key changes is the addition of 5 seconds timer between the 3 seconds and 10 seconds timer. The new app also brings a Guided Frame accessibility feature which you can turn on or off inside the camera app’s settings.

Pixel Camera 9.5 brings several accessibility features including Guided Frame, Magnifier 2.0, and more. The redesigned panorama mode, Add Me, Night Sight mode for video recording, and 8K video boost features are still not available for older devices.

These features are expected to come in the future through a Pixel Drop feature update. You can expect the same for Pixel Camera for Wear OS.
