Samsung Galaxy S21 starts getting Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta 2 update

Last month, Samsung initially started testing its newest Android 12-based One UI 4.0 custom skin on the Galaxy S21 lineup. Now the Galaxy S21 users are receiving the second beta build of the upcoming One UI 4.0 update. For the time being, the latest OTA is rolling out in the US, Germany, and Korea, the release date may vary across different regions. Obviously, the update is coming with a bunch of new features and changes. Here’s everything you need to know about Samsung Galaxy S21 One UI 4.0 beta 2 update.

The latest build is rolling out to the Galaxy S21 (SM-G991B) and Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (SM-G998U1) with G991BXXU3ZUJ1 and G998U1UEU4ZUJ1 build number and weighs around 970MB of downloading size. As per the Galaxy S21 users on twitter, the update is coming with a flurry of new features.

The company says the new beta build improves typing accuracy on Samsung keyboard, add mic color during video call for better privacy, performance improvement, alongside a bunch of other system improvements. Samsung also addresses the secure folder automatically closing issue in this beta build.

Apart from that, the Samsung adopts the Android 12’s dynamic theming feature, yes, there’s a new feature named color theme in the changelog. Here’s the complete changelog you can check before updating your smartphone to the latest beta.

If you’ve opted the One UI 4.0 beta program, then you’ll receive the latest beta over-the-air. But, if your Galaxy S21 is running on One UI 3.1 based Android 11 OS, then you can take a part in the beta program and then upgrade your device to the upcoming One UI 4.0 skin.

The stable version of Android 12 for the Galaxy S21 series will come by the end of this year. We can expect the company will soon starting beta testing on other Galaxy phones as well.
