Vivo is finally replacing its long-running FuntouchOS skin on global devices with OriginOS. OriginOS is the successor to FuntouchOS, a skin available in mainland China since 2020. The skin offers a more intuitive user interface, AI features, a refined user experience with less bloatware, a wide range of customization features, and more.
While Vivo has steadily improved FuntouchOS over the years, it has struggled to match the experience of OriginOS. Now, the company is finally bringing OriginOS to global markets, in the form of the Android 16 based OriginOS 6.0. However, the skin will differ from the one available in the Chinese market, offering additional features as well as Google Services.
In this article, we’ll talk about the OriginOS 6 release date, expected features, supported devices, and other details.

The key elements of system apps will drop shadow and lighting effects, while interacting with these elements as well as on the background.
New Lock Screen Customizations
Lock Screen on OriginOS will get a major revamp. As I mentioned earlier, it will be inspired by iOS 26, meaning you will get an enlarged clock with depth effect support. Apart from that, you will get a bunch of new wallpapers that will enhance the look of the lock screen. We will share all-new wallpapers very soon, so stay connected with us.

Split-screen Multitasking
Multitasking on Vivo phones will get better with the Android 16-based OriginOS 6; the forthcoming skin is expected to allow users to easily multitask between apps and games using the split-screen feature. Yes, you can now switch to any app without leaving gameplay.
Dynamic Animations

Revamped Control Center and App Icons
OriginOS 6 will bring a redesigned control center and fresh new app icons. We can expect the redesigned control center to include the new Light & Shadow design elements. Talking about the app icons, then we can expect a new Settings icon, camera app, phone app, gallery, and some other icons.

Android 16 Features
OriginOS 6 will also gain new features available on Android 16 OS. The list includes features like Grouped Notifications, Live Updates, Enhanced Camera Controls, Improved support for hearing aids, new accessibility tools, and better security.

Just like every Android release, you can expect Android 16 and ColorOS 16 to either bring new security features or overall improvements in security and privacy.
Keep in mind, all these features are based on rumors and leaks; nothing is confirmed yet, so we have to wait until the information is available.
