OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro get OxygenOS 12 C.44 update

A new incremental update is being rolled out for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. This is the second update for the OnePlus 9 series since the release of Android 12. The last update C.40 was rolled out in the last week of December. Here you can find more about the OxygenOS 12 C.44 update for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.

The OnePlus 9 series is the first and only OnePlus phone series to get the OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12. Well, some other OnePlus phones are eligible but have not received the update yet. Yes, many other OEMs have released the update for a bunch of phones but OnePlus is still behind.

The latest update for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro comes with build number C.44. It is available in India, North America, and Europe. As OxygenOS 12 is still a fresh update for the OnePlus 9 series, recent updates will be more focused on bug fixes. As usual, OnePlus admins have shared the update details on their forum along with the changelog that includes the January 2022 Android Security Patch.

Some of the features are limited to the EU region.

OxygenOS 12 C.44 for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are rolling out in batches. So it can take time to be available to all users. If you are a OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro user then you will receive the OTA update on your phone. You can manually check for the update by going to Settings > System > System Update.

OnePlus also allows sideloading OTA updates if your device is running on the latest required version. So if you want to manually update your phone, you can download the OTA package from the Oxygen Updater app or from the official OnePlus download page.

Before upgrading to the latest version, make sure to take a backup of your data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
