OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro get C.40 OxygenOS 12 Update

OnePlus has started rolling out a new Android 12 incremental update C.40 for the OnePlus 9 series. This is the second incremental update for the OnePlus 9 series since the first Android 12 based OxygenOS 12 rollout which was a flop. The OnePlus 9 is the first and only series from OnePlus to get the Android 12 update. The new OxygenOS 12 update for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro comes with some bug fixes.

OnePlus users are not happy with the ColorOS and OxygenOS mix up as it takes away all the fun of a clean UI, which was one of the main reasons why users chose OnePlus. And the first Android 12 rollout for the OnePlus 9 was not successful and was pulled due to several bugs. But later, OnePlus fixed the issue and resumed the update a week ago.

OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are now getting another incremental update which comes with build number LE21xx_11_C.40. Since this is a small incremental update to improve the newly released OxygenOS 12, the update size won’t be much. Below you can check the changelog.

System

  • Fixed the issue of system upgrade failure in specific scenarios

Network

  • Fixed the issue of being unable to access the 5G network in some scenarios

The new OxygenOS 12 C.40 update for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro is now rolling out in India and North America. As usual, it is a staged rollout which means some users may get the update early and the remaining users will get it in a few days. If you have the OnePlus 9, then you will receive the OTA update on your phone. You can manually check for the update from Settings > System > System Update.

OnePlus also allows sideloading OTA updates if your device is running on the latest required version. So if you want to manually update your phone, you can download the OTA package from the Oxygen Updater app or from the official OnePlus download page.

Before upgrading to the latest version, make sure to take a backup of your data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
