Nothing Phone 1 gets another round of Android 13 beta update. You may already know the Android 13 for Nothing Phone 1 is based on Nothing OS 1.5. Earlier this week, Carl Pei announced that the next phase of the beta rollout would begin on January 17th. But today, a statement from Carl Pei revealed that the beta update is ahead of schedule and is now available to users.
Android 13 has been officially available for over six months, but the Nothing Phone 1 is yet to receive the stable update. Last year, Nothing officially stated that Android 13 will be available in 2023 and not in 2022. To prepare for the update, the company first released the closed beta update in November and then released the open beta in December.
The first beta brought some new features to Nothing Phone 1. And the second Android 13 beta for the Nothing Phone 1 also seems to be a big upgrade with a lot of changes and some new features. Although the update weighs in at around 127MB.
Android 13 beta 2 for the Nothing Phone 1 comes with the Nothing OS 1.5.1 update. And with the second beta update, the opportunity for beta testing has been extended to even more users. Talking about new features, it includes new wallpapers, new glyph ringtones, lock screen shortcut customization, improved battery life, and more. You can check out the complete changelog below.

Nothing Phone 1 Android 13 Beta 2 is available to users on the first beta. The second beta is also available to a new batch of users who opted for the beta program last month. You will receive the OTA update notification on your device. You can also check for the update manually from Settings.
As usual, take a backup of important data before upgrading your phone, and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
