Nothing Phone 1 is one of the most hyped phones of this year, released with Android 12. The phone comes with a stock-like experience and is planned to get an Android 13 update. Nothing Company founder Carl Pei has announced the Nothing OS Android 13 closed beta program for Nothing Phone 1. The closed beta program will let users test Android 13 on their Nothing phone before its official release.

Note: Open Beta Application link is now available. Check the full details at the last of this article.

As confirmed by Nothing, the device is not planned to receive the stable Android 13 update this year. But now as the closed beta is here and open beta is on the way, Nothing Phone 1 Android 13 is not far and expected to be available in early 2023.

Android 13 is the latest OS version for Android phones. In the last two months, many OEMs upgraded their devices to Android 13. However, Nothing is taking its time with the release of its very first major update.

Carl Pei announced the closed beta on Twitter with no other information. So it is not clear whether the closed beta will be available to users or only to the Nothing team. We will have more information in a couple of days. In case you are a Nothing Phone 1 user and received any notification then share in the comment section.

In the same tweet, Carl Pei also mentioned that the open beta will be available in two weeks. That means Nothing is on the track to fulfilling its promise to deliver Android 13 in early 2023.

Although Nothing hasn’t shared anything on what features will be coming with the Android 13 update, we are expecting most of the stock Android features such as the material you theme to all icons (if supported by developers), per app language preference, improved quick settings and notification panel, notification permission on opening the app for the first time, improved clipboard functions, enhanced privacy and security and more.

You can expect more custom features through the Nothing OS 1.5 which will be based on Android 13.

So currently there is limited information on Nothing Phone 1 Android 13 closed beta. But soon the OEM might unveil more information. If you are a Nothing Phone 1 user and get a chance to test closed beta, then make sure you know that early builds could have some minor and even major bugs. It is because it’s going to be the very first testing build.
