LockStar adds 5 new fingerprint unlock animations: Customize your lock screen

Summarize This Article:

Along with the One UI 8 testing, Samsung’s team is also working on major updates for various Good Lock plugins. LockStar is the latest plugin to receive a major update, bringing some interesting changes that you might like.

Good Lock enables customization of various UI elements on Samsung devices, without the need for root access or custom ROMs. It supports various modules that target specific parts of the interface. Some of the most popular Good Lock modules include Theme Park, Home Up, LockStar, Clock Face, and Wonderland.

As the name suggests, LockStar is responsible for customizing the lock screen. The latest version 7.0.01.5 of the module is now available with some new fingerprint unlocking effects. Specifically, it adds five new unlocking animations, which you can check out in the embedded media below.

Personally, I love the third animation; it’s minimal yet stunning. Which one is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below.

Currently, the update isn’t available on the Galaxy Store. This means you’ll need to either manually download the APK or wait for the stable release. Make sure to get version 7.0.01.5 or newer. You can download the latest LockStar APK from the link provided below.

Install Good Lock from the Play Store or Galaxy Store and then install the LockStar module using the APK.

How to change Fingerprint unlocking effects using LockStar

The new fingerprint unlocking animations require One UI 8, which means they’re currently available only on Galaxy S25 devices running the latest beta.

If you’re already familiar with using new fingerprint unlocking effects via LockStar, you can try them immediately. But if you’re new to it, simply follow the steps below to get started.

  1. First, ensure that there are no battery-related restrictions, such as power saving and background usage limitations.
  2. Lock your device and then wake with a single click of the Power key. Don’t unlock it yet.
  3. Long-tap on the lock screen page, and it will open the lock screen customization page.
  4. Tap on the Fingerprint icon, and you get to choose from new animations. If you’re not on the latest One UI 8 beta, the fingerprint icon will not appear.
  5. Simply select the one effect you like and tap on Done.
  6. That’s it, the new fingerprint unlock animation is applied.
