In recent years, a lot of OEMs have been taking responsibility to upgrade all of their devices with the latest version of the Android operating system. In the case of LG, a brand that no longer manufactures Android devices, the brand has been updating its devices with the latest version of Android which they were promised while leaving the market. In December, LG confirmed the Android 13 update for LG Velvet. The company has now started rolling out Android 13 for LG Velvet.
As of now the LG Velvet 5G variant in South Korea has been receiving the latest Android 13 update. Looking at how the update is rolling out to the LG Velvet, it can be seen that they are sticking to their promises. The phone was originally released with Android 11 OS, last year, we got to see the LG Velvet get updated to Android 12 in the month of March. And now is the time for the second major software upgrade rolling out to the smartphone.
A number of users have already received the new update, some LG Velvet users shared the screenshots on Reddit and other social media platforms. The update that is rolling out for the LG Velvet in South Korea V40b-Jan-17-2023. The size of the update is 1376MB.
Android 13 for the LG Velvet brings in a lot of new features and security enhancements that will improve the overall usage of the LG Velvet. Talking about the changes, then the upgrade brings new media player controls to the lock screen and notification bar, themed icons with enhancements, and many more. The update will also bump up the monthly security patch to a newer version.
Do note that the update is rolling out for users in South Korea. Users across the globe will be getting the Android 13 update for the LG Velvet in the coming weeks or months.
