iOS 12.4.9 update now available for older iPhones and iPads

Just after the release of iOS 14.2 Update for the latest devices, Apple has also pushed an iOS 12.4.9 update for older iPhones. The update is available for 7 devices including iPhones and iPads. It is a small update that is available after a long gap. The last iOS 12 update was released back in July 2020.

There is also news that the iOS 12.4.9 update is available for some iPhones which support iOS 14. But we haven’t seen anyone who already received the update, so can’t quote on that. The latest update is a small incremental updateย

Download & Install iOS 12.4.9 Update

The iOS 12.4.9 update is available to everyone with supported iPhones or iPads. It means you can directly update your device through Settings. You can also upgrade with the help of iTunes or Finder depending on the OS you are using. You can use IPSW files if you are planning to install it through your computer.

To update your device head over to the Settings and Software Update section. It will display the latest iOS 14.2 update. Tap on Download and Install Button. Make sure to connect your device to WiFi or have enough data on your internet network. Your device will now reboot.
