How to Pair Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra

Earlier this month, Samsung lifted the covers off its newest wearable tech at the annual Galaxy Unpacked event. While the Galaxy Ultra garnered most of the attention, the Galaxy Watch 7 received only a brief and casual mention during the keynote.

If you recently received your new Galaxy Watch 7 or Galaxy Watch Ultra and want to know how to set it up, follow our step-by-step guide on how to pair Galaxy Watch 7 or Ultra to an Android smartphone.

The Galaxy Watch 7 and the Watch Ultra support a very similar set of features, thanks to the new Exynos W1000 chipset and WearOS 5. While previous generation models already handled day-to-day tasks pretty easily, there was still room for enhancements. Samsung claims these new watches have three times faster CPU and 30% improved power efficiency.

As both new watches run on WearOS 5 based on the One UI 6 Watch, you can easily pair them with any Android smartphone running on Android 11 or newer with more than 1.5GB RAM. The process of setting up the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra is the same. Before moving to the steps, check out the prerequisites.

Prerequisites:

  • Galaxy Wearable app
  • Galaxy Watch 7 Plugin app (Required for non-Samsung phones)
  • Charge your Galaxy Watch 7 or Watch Ultra to at least 40-50%
