Get Now Brief Early! How to Enable It on Your Older Galaxy Device

Samsung introduced two popular AI features called Now Bar and Now Brief with One UI 7 and Galaxy S25 in January. While the Now Bar feature was soon expanded to older Galaxy devices such as the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S23, the Now Brief remained exclusive to the Galaxy S25 devices.

As per the latest information, it looks like Samsung is planning to bring the Now Brief to older Galaxy devices with One UI 8. Fortunately, thereโ€™s a workaround to get Now Brief on older devices like the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S23 even before the official release plan.

If you want to try Now Brief on your Galaxy phone, you can follow this working guide to enable the feature right away. Remember, this process will only work on devices running One UI 7.0 or a later version. So, make sure to update your device to the latest version available.

Enable Now Brief on One UI 7 Devices

For some users, installing the latest version of Samsung Smart Suggestions (version 7.0.06.0) enabled the Now Brief on their devices. However, for most users, it didnโ€™t work, or the Now Brief constantly crashed. So, first, try this short process. If it works for you, great! If not, then check out the longer but working option below.

Thanks to an X user @Feruzbek_101, who shared the working method. Also thanks to @thatjoshguy69 for additional tips. We tested it on Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S23, and it worked flawlessly on both devices.

  1. First, you need to install Shizuku and SystemUI Tuner on your Galaxy Phone. Both apps are available on the Play Store.
  2. Download the Samsung Smart suggestions v7.0.06.0 or newer APK from APK mirror or another trusted source.
  3. Go to Settings > Apps > Personal data intelligence > Storage and clear its data.
Enable Now Brief on older Galaxy Phone
  4. Now update the app through the APK you downloaded earlier.
  5. Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information > Tap Build Number 7 times to enable developer options.
  6. Then go to Settings > Developer Options > enable USB Debugging and Wireless debugging. Once done, open the Shizuku app and grant notification access to the app. Now tap on the pairing button in the Shizuku app.
  7. Go to wireless debugging > Pair device with pairing code. It will show a 6-digit pairing code, while itโ€™s open, access the notification panel, and enter this code under Shizuku notification.
Enable Now Brief on older Galaxy Phone
  8. Now start the Shizuku.

  9. Next, open the SystemUI Tuner app and grant all required permissions.

Thatโ€™s it! Now, go to Settings > Galaxy AI to access Now Brief. If Now Brief is still not available for you, you need to follow the instructions below.

Open SystemUI Tuner and go to System > Lock Screen > Shortcuts > Left shortcut and select com.samsung.android.smartsuggestions/.settings.about.developermode.DeveloperModeActivity

Lock your device. Press the side key or power key to wake the screen, then open the left shortcut and enable the Personal Data Engine option.

Now, using the same process, assign the mentioned shortcut to the Right shortcut.

Once done, you can go ahead and test the Now Brief. Since itโ€™s an unofficial method, thereโ€™s no guarantee that it will work for everyone. However, you can try and test it to check if it works for you or not.

This process can work on any Galaxy AI-eligible device. Let us know if you were able to turn on the Now Brief, or if it is still not working.
