Devices accumulate a lot of data over time and most of that data comes from apps. Yes using apps regularly store lots of cache and lots of files including large files. Users won’t notice this until the storage almost fills up.

If you want to delete an app’s data, which makes apps brand new, it is possible on Windows 11, similar to Android. On Windows, this is referred to as Reset which clears the app cache as well as the app data.

Now if you want to free up space on your PC, the first step you can take is to delete apps that you don’t use. But if you don’t want to delete apps but want to start from scratch, you can reset those apps, which will also clear some storage on your device.

On your Windows PC, open the Settings application from Start Menu or other shortcuts.

Under Settings, click on the Apps page on the Side Menu.

The list of Apps Settings will be huge, choose the one on top that says Installed Apps which will show every app available on your Windows PC.

You can either look for the app you want to delete its data or you can search for the app. You can also change the view as per your choice to easily find the app from the list.

For example, I am going to delete data from the Camera app. Click on the three dots available next to the app or just below the app. And then from the options choose Advanced options.

It will take you to the App information page where you can see permissions, app version, and data usage along with a bunch of options. Scroll down and find the Reset section.

Click on the Reset button and it will show the warning ‘This will permanently delete the app’s data on this device, including your preferences and sign-in details.’

Click on the Reset button again to confirm. This will delete the app data which can take time depending on the stored data. You will see the Right icon once it’s done.

I don’t see Advanced Options

You may not see the Advanced options for some apps. So in that case you have to uninstall and reinstall the app manually. Yes, it is time taking and is not exactly the definition of reset, but it will work because the result will be the same.
