New Features for Pixel Phones
Schedule safety checks
For extra peace of mind, you can ask Google Assistant on your Pixel phone to start emergency sharing or schedule safety check for specific durations. For example, if you schedule safety check for 30 minutes, and if you don’t respond in the limited time, your real time location will be shared with emergency contacts.
Emergency Contacts in Car Crash Detection
Car Crash Detection has been available for a couple of years, which calls emergency services after detecting a car crash. With the latest feature drop update, it will now also share the real-time location with emergency contacts.
Macro Focus for Video
On the Pixel 7 Pro, Macro Focus is now available for video as well. This feature allows users to capture even smaller details in their videos.
Users with a Pixel 6 or newer Pixel device can now simply raise their palms to trigger a timer for self-timed photos. The timer can be set for either 3 seconds or 10 seconds, depending on your preference.
The new feature called ‘Cinematic Wallpapers’ on Pixel 6 and newer Pixel phones transforms 2D photos into 3D dynamic themes that give a cinematic look. You can use photos of your family and friends to create a cool cinematic wallpaper experience.
Users can mix and match from over 4,000 emojis to create unique and cool live wallpapers that reflect their personalities and mood. If you’re feeling lazy, the ‘Randomize’ option is all you need.
The new update to the Google Recorder app lets users export transcripts into Google Docs, generate speaker-labeled video clips, and search for speakers within recordings. This will be available starting next week on Pixel 6 and newer Pixel phones.
Quick access to smart home controls
The improved user interface for Home controls in the lock screen allows quick access to smart home controls with the Google Home app. Users can use redesigned home panel for controls such as turn off lights, adjust the temperature, see your cameras, and more.
Pixel 6a and Pixel 7a can now lower their vibration intensity when the device is on a hard surface like a table or desk. It automatically lowers the vibration intensity using Pixel’s adaptive haptics.
Improved Adaptive Charging
Adaptive charging on Pixel is even better now. It utilizes AI to predict prolonged charging sessions based on your previous charging patterns and slows down the charging speed one hour before it is supposed to reach 100% or to be unplugged.
New Google Assistant voices
The update introduces two new voices for Google Assistant in US English, expanding the voice options available.
New Features for Pixel Watch
The new feature drop includes SpO2/Oxygen Saturation tracking for the Google Pixel Watch, allowing it to monitor changes in your blood oxygen levels even while you sleep. This valuable health feature adds to the capabilities of the smartwatch.
Heart Rate Tracking Update
The Google Pixel Watch continuously tracks your heart rate throughout the day and night, providing a comprehensive record of your heart health. With the new update, it can now send you a notification if your heart rate is either high or low.
Google Assistant in more languages
The Google Assistant is now available in more languages on the Pixel Watch. You can now access Google Assistant in Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Polish, and Spanish.
