With Galaxy AI, Samsung has introduced many useful features available on select Galaxy phones. Real-time call translation is one of these features praised by everyone as it removes the language barrier. But it is only available on the Stock Dialer. However, this will soon be available for WhatsApp calls as well.

The popular tipster Ice Universe has tipped that the live translation is coming to WhatsApp calls for select Galaxy phones. This feature will be part of Galaxy AI, which means Galaxy phones that have received AI features with One UI 6.1 should be eligible for WhatsApp live call translation.

A few weeks ago, Samsung officially announced that they will expand the live translation feature to third-party apps. The new tip, which came just before the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, hints that the feature could also debut at the event or within a few days.

The Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled to take place on July 10, where Samsung will launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and other devices. Both of these foldables will run on One UI 6.1.1, which will also rollout to other Galaxy phones soon. Therefore, itโ€™s possible that the live translation support could expand to third party apps through One UI 6.1.1.

The tweet from leakster may have focused on WhatsApp calls, but comments indicate that the feature might be coming to other apps along with WhatsApp. This includes apps like Google Meet, Wechat, and other similar apps that allow calls.

You may already know how this feature works, which includes translation on both the caller’s and receiver’s end. Both parties will hear a translated voice in their native language, which will help them understand each other even if they donโ€™t speak the same language. The translation is also displayed as text on the screen.

Although Galaxy AI features are free to use on eligible Galaxy phones without any limits, this will not remain the same in the next one or two years. This is because Samsung has confirmed that Galaxy AI will become a paid service after 2025.
