Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy S21 and S22 series, bringing a wave of delight to the device owners. At the time of writing, the update is seeding in the homeland, South Korea, a broader rollout should commence in a matter of time.

One UI 6.1 on the Galaxy S24 series boasts several useful features including Circle to Search, Live Translate, Chat Assist, Interpreter, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, Browsing Assist, Photo Assist, Generative Wallpaper, Generative Edit, and more.

However, it appears that Samsung isn’t rolling out all these features across both devices. Some users have reported that Circle to Search is the only Galaxy AI feature mentioned in the S21’s release notes.
One UI 6.1 is a major software upgrade and so the update weighs a whopping 3.1GB in size on the S22 series with S90*NKSU3EXDC build number. If you own the Galaxy S21 lineup model, then the update’s firmware version is G991NKSU4GXDC. As it is a big update, make sure you’ve enough storage and data to install the update.
If you own the Galaxy S21 or Galaxy S22, then you may have already received the update on your device. If not you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
Remember to back up your important data before installing the update. No, the update will not erase your data, but take a backup just in case. Also, charge your phone to at least 50%.
