Last month, Xiaomi’s spin-off Poco took the covers off its new generation X-series smartphones, dubbed, the Poco X6 and the Poco X6 Pro. The new X6 series models look identical to the Redmi Note 13 series phones, however, billing with a 64MP primary camera instead of a 200MP shooter.
Both the Poco X6 and X6 Pro capture nice and detail photos with its main sensor in default 16MP model. However, switching to the 64MP mode may not yield the best results as it can degrade performance. Nevertheless, you can enhance the camera capabilities using third-party camera apps, and the GCam mod is one of the best options. You can download the Google Camera app for the Poco X6 and X6 Pro here.

Poco X6 series dawns a triple-lens camera setup on its back, featuring a 64MP OmniVision OV64B 1/2″ sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. It utilizes 4-in-1 pixel binning technology to capture high-resolution photos, as I said earlier, the results are great in 16MP mode. In terms of software, the phone has a familiar stock camera app seen on many recent Xiaomi and Poco phones.
There are many Google Camera ports compatible with the Poco X6 series phones and the newest GCam 9.1 from Pixel 8 series performs well on the new phones, thanks to developers for porting the app. The app support features like Night Sight mode, Astrophotography, SloMo, HDR Enhanced, RAW support, Google Lens, and more. Now let’s take a look at the steps on how to download and install the Google Camera app on Poco X6 series.
