Apple rolls out iOS 18.4 Release Candidate with final tweaks

Apple has begun the week with the release of iOS 18.4 Release Candidate for developers and public testers. This indicates that the iOS 18.4 could be released to the public in early April. The fourth big update to iOS 18 will bring several new features and improvements.

iOS 18.4, which was anticipated to be released in April, is indeed arriving on time, without any delays. Thanks to the RC release for confirming the same. The iOS 18.4 Release Candidate build is available for iPhone Xr and newer models.

Apple has also released iPadOS 18.4 RC, watchOS 11.4 RC, tvOS 18.4 RC, macOS Sequoia 15.4 RC, macOS Sonoma 14.7.5 RC5, macOS Ventura 13.7.5 RC5, and visionOS 2.4 RC, alongside the iOS 18.4 RC.

iOS 18.4 Release Candidate

The iOS 18.4 Release Candidate comes with build number 22E239. While the build number of an RC build is the same as the public build, Apple may change the public buildโ€™s number depending on the situation. The Release Candidate build is considered the stable build for testers.

Surprisingly, Apple hasnโ€™t included changelog details in the Software Update settings. However, the features and changes are already known to everyone through beta builds. Some of these features include, Apple Intelligence availability in more regions and languages, Ambient Music toggles in the Control Center, new Emojis, and a few more.

When the update is released to the public, all the features and changes from the beta builds will be included.

The iOS 18.4 Release Candidate is now available to registered developers and public beta testers. If youโ€™ve opted in for the beta on your eligible iPhone, you can install the release candidate.

Once you install the release candidate, you wonโ€™t receive its public build coming in April. This is because the same build will be released to the public.

If you own an eligible iPhone, make sure to back up your data before installing the update.
