A week after the release of iOS 26, Apple has started testing the iOS 26.1, the first incremental update to iOS 26, which is expected to be released in the coming weeks. The first beta of iOS 26.1 is now available to developers and will soon be available to public beta users.
Despite extensive testing before the big official release, major releases often contain bugs and missing features. These gaps are addressed with the first incremental update. The iOS 26.1 will introduce new features and fix some known issues.
Today, Apple has released iPadOS 26.1 Beta, watchOS 26.1 Beta, tvOS 26.1 Beta, macOS Tahoe 26.1 Beta, macOS Sequoia 15.7.1 RC, macOS Sonoma 14.8.1 RC, and visionOS 26.1 Beta, along with the iOS 26.1 Beta.

The iOS 26.1 Beta 1 comes with build number 23B5044l. It weighs around 3GB, but it depends on your current iOS update.
The first beta of iOS 26.1 introduces various changes and improvements. If you encountered issues in the iOS 17 build, there’s a good chance they’ll be resolved in the first iOS 26 update. Although Apple doesn’t share any specific changes, here’s a summary of the changes in the iOS 26.1 Beta 1.
