How to Install macOS Big Sur Public Beta on MacBook

This guide requires signing up for the beta from the Apple macOS beta website. You can follow the below steps to get the latest public beta on your device.

  1. First, make sure to take a backup of your device data and store the backup at safe storage. Also, you should know if you want to roll back to the previous version then you have to wipe all data.
  2. Now open the Apple’s macOS beta page on your browser.
  3. Log in with your Apple ID that has beta access. If not then you can sign up for the beta and log in.
  4. Select the macOS option from the OS list.
  5. Then click on the ‘Enroll Your Devices’ button which will be at the top right corner.
  6. Scroll down to the second step and you will find “Download the macOS Public Beta Access Utility”. Click on it and it will download the file.
  7. After downloading the dmg file install it on your MacBook.
  8. And then go to System Preferences > Software Update and Check for Update manually.
  9. It will list the latest macOS Big Sur public beta, but if not then again search for updates after some time.
  10. Now download the update and after downloading you can install it on your device.
