Apple finally releases watchOS 11.4 to the public

Apple has just released the feature-packed watchOS 11.4 update to the public. While the update was initially rolled out yesterday, it was briefly pulled for unspecified reasons – possibly due to a glitch. However, just a day later, Apple has re-released the update.

So, what are the new changes coming with the watchOS 11.4 update? Let’s take a look at that.

Apple pushes the stable watchOS 11.4 update to compatible Apple Watch models with the 22T251 build number. The incremental upgrade for beta users weighs around 160MB in size, whereas the full upgrade requires 1GB of data for installation.

watchOS 11.4 bags several new features and enhancements, including access to all-new emojis released with iOS 18.4, you can now add Matter-compatible robot vacuum cleaners to Home app, and there’s an option that allows you to allow Sleep Wake Up alarm to break through Silence mode, and addressed an issue where watch face selection become unresponsive.

Here’s the complete list of changes coming with the update:

  • Matter-compatible robot vacuum cleaners can be added to the Home app as well as used in scenes, automations, or simply say “Siri, clean the living room.”
  • An option to allow Sleep Wake Up alarm to break through Silence mode
  • An issue where face selection may become unresponsive when switching faces

First things first, you need to update your iPhone to iOS 18.4, then you can proceed with installing the watchOS 11.4 update on your Apple Watch. Follow these steps to download the update.

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap General > Software Update.
  3. Simply select download and install watchOS 11.4 update.
  4. Thatโ€™s it.

Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged at least 50% and connected to a WiFi network.

Now the update will download and transfer to your Apple Watch. And after the completion of the installation process, your watch will restart. Once all done, you can start using your Apple Watch.
