watchOS 11.4 release candidate is out for testers

watchOS 11.4 is close to its public release, today, Apple has released the release candidate build of watchOS 11.4 to developers for testing purposes. For those unaware, a release candidate build is essentially the final version, made available to developers before the public release.

Apple pushes the watchOS 11.4 release candidate with a 22T250 build number. If your watch is already on the watchOS 11.4, then the incremental beta weighs only 230MB in download size. It is a free upgrade so you can quickly update your watch.

watchOS 11.4 bags several new features and enhancements, including access to all-new emojis released with iOS 18.4, you can now add Matter-compatible robot vacuum cleaners to Home app, and there’s an option that allows you to allow Sleep Wake Up alarm to break through Silence mode, and addressed an issue where watch face selection become unresponsive.

Here’s the complete list of changes coming with the update:

  • Matter-compatible robot vacuum cleaners can be added to the Home app as well as used in scenes, automations, or simply say “Siri, clean the living room.”
  • An option to allow Sleep Wake Up alarm to break through Silence mode
  • An issue where face selection may become unresponsive when switching faces

watchOS 11.4 Release Candidate

If your iPhone or iPad is running on the latest version ofย the iOS 18.4 release candidate, then you can easily sideload the watchOS 11.4 rc on your Watch.

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap General > Software Update.
  3. Select Beta Updates and enable watchOS 11 Developer Beta or Public Beta option.
  4. Go back and download the release candidate of watchOS 11.4.
  5. Thatโ€™s it.

Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged at least 50% and connected to a WiFi network. After installing the beta profile, open the Apple Watch app on your phone, head over to General > Software Update > Download and Install, then install the new software.

Now the watchOS 11.4 RC will download and transfer to your Apple Watch. After the completion of the installation process, your watch will restart. Once all done, you can start using your Apple Watch.
