Windows 11 Insider Build 25169 released with Multi-App Kiosk Mode

Microsoft today releases some Windows 11 Insider builds on different channels. And speaking of the dev channel, Windows 11 Insider Build 25169 is now available with some new features, changes, and bug fixes. So if you are a Windows Insider on the Dev Channel you will receive the new Windows 11 build 25169 on your machine. Let’s find out everything about Windows 11 Build 25169.

The last update on the Dev channel was released on the 20th of this month. And exactly a week later, Microsoft brings out the new Windows 11 build. The last build included some additional features including taskbar overflow and more. And talking about the new Windows 11 Build 25169, it also comes with some changes and new features.

Multi App Kiosk Mode

Windows 11 Insider Preview build 25169 comes with Multi App Kiosk mode for IT administrators. This is a lockdown feature that allows IT Admins to assign a set of apps to run on the system. This is kind of a security feature. Users such as students, workers, or employees will not be able to use functionalities or apps that IT Admins have not approved or allowed. Other than Apps, IT Admin can also use this lockdown feature for settings, starts menu, and pop-ups as well.

This is going to be an ideal feature for situations like when multiple users are using the same machine or even it will come in handy when assigning devices to employees.

Currently, the Multi App Kiosk Mode can be enabled using PowerShell and WMI Bridge. These instructions can be followed to enable it through WMI Bridge.

Windows Spotlight on Desktop

Windows 11 build 25169 also brings Windows Spotlight mode for Desktop. It can be enabled from Settings > Personalization and Settings > Personalization > Themes. Other changes in this dev build include an updated U.S. English (EN-US) handwriting model, more app controls in Settings, and more.

If you are on the Windows 11 Insider Dev Channel, you will get the OTA update directly on your machine. You can manually check for the update. All you need to do is go to the Settings app and then click on the Windows Update option at the top right corner. Click on Check for Updates. The system will now check and download the latest Windows 11 build.
