Vivo V40 starts getting Android 15 update in India

Vivo is one of the first smartphone OEMs to release the stable Android 15 update. The company has already released the update for their premium X-series phones – Vivo X Fold 3, X100 series, and X90 Pro. Today, Vivo has started rolling out the FuntouchOS 15 based Android 15 update for Vivo V40.

The big software upgrade to Vivo V40 is seeding with the PD2363F_EX_A_15.1.6.11.W30 software version. Vivo V40 was launched with the Android 14 operating system, so, this is the first major upgrade for the smartphone. The update comes with a download size of 2.65GB, so make sure you have enough data and storage on your device.

Viral Patel, a user on X (formerly Twitter), shared a screenshot of the changelog, revealing key details. For the time being, the update is rolling out in India. It is a staged rollout and should be available to everyone in the coming weeks.

Vivo is pushing a bunch of new features with FuntouchOS 15 update, the list includes new UI changes, lock screen customization, Circle to Search, some other AI features, and more. Here’s the complete list of changes coming with the update.

System

  • Added Priority Scheduling algorithm, which can finely differentiate the priority level and computing power requirements of different apps and tasks to accurately allocate computing power and improve system smoothness
  • Added Rapid dynamic effect engine, which is a dedicated channel opened for dynamic effects, enabling timely feedback about dynamic effects to improve visual smoothness
  • Added memory enhancement technology, which accurately classifies and manages memory, compresses memory to save space, improves memory usage efficiency, and enables smooth multitasking

Notes

  • Added more text editing tools, making it easier and more enjoyable to record ideas
  • Added the feature to export notes in Word format for easy sharing

Settings

  • Enhanced the search scope and fuzzy search capability, making it easier to search for features within Settings
  • Optimized menu categorization and hierarchy, providing clearer and more logical layouts that make it easier to locate settings

Multitasking

  • Added the switching gestures for split-screen and small window modes, allow ing you to drag a split-screen to the middle of the screen to switch to a small window

If you have a Vivo V40, you can expect the stable Android 15 update to arrive anytime as an OTA. You can manually look for the update in Settings. Also don’t forget to backup your device before installing the update.
