Google continues to bring new features to its Pixel phones through monthly and quarterly updates. Feature drop updates are the main updates (after major updates) that all Pixel users look forward to. The latest feature drop has brought clear calling to the Pixel 7 series along with other features. As it’s a new feature here is how to enable clear calling on Google Pixel 7.
Clear Calling is going to make the call experience even better on both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Yes, it is currently exclusive to the Pixel 7 series.
What is Clear Calling on Pixel?
The new Clear Calling feature on Pixel amplifies the other caller’s voice and also reduces their background noise. This results in a clear call at the receiver’s end. Google credits this to its latest Google Tensor G2 chip. And this could be the reason why the new Clear Calling feature is exclusive to the Pixel 7 series.
Since most phones already come with noise cancellation features, Clear Calling for Pixel 7 users will further improve voice clarity even if the caller is in a noisy place. However, there are some limitations like it does not work on VOIP calls. Call quality may also vary depending on the environment, carrier network strength, and a few other factors.
The feature is expected to be available in the upcoming Pixel phones as they will be running on either Tensor G2 or newer Tensor chips. If you have any questions about getting clear calling in Pixel 6, then you can be disappointed because the previous tensor chip may not support the new feature.
How to Turn on Clear Calling on Pixel 7
If you own a Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro, you should enable this new feature right away to take advantage of it. Since this is a new feature, you may need a guide to enable it. You can follow the steps given below.
Step 1: Make sure to update your Pixel 7 to the latest version. The feature is available since December 2022 Pixel feature drop.
Step 2: Open the Settings app on your Pixel from the app drawer or quick settings.
Step 3: In Settings, Look for Sound and Vibrations and open it.
Step 4: Now open Clear Calling.
Step 5: Turn the toggle to On to enable Clear Calling.
Note: The clear calling feature will work best if your phone has good WiFi or Internet connection.
How to Turn Off Clear Calling on Pixel 7
If you want to disable the clear calling feature for some reason you can easily do that in the same way. Still here is the step by step process to turn it off.
- Open Settings on your Pixel 7 phone.
- Now go to Sound and Vibrations settings and then Clear Calling.
- Here you need to turn the toggle to Off to disable the feature.
It’s an easy way to improve the calling experience on your Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Features like Clear Calling are what make Feature Drop updates so special. These updates bring some significant improvements and add value to Pixel phones.
