Samsung has been steadily pushing out the One UI 8 rollout. The company has already released the Android 16-based software upgrade for flagships, many mid-range phones, and some entry-level phones. Today, Samsung added four more budget-centric phones to the One UI 8 club: the Galaxy A06, F06, M06, and Galaxy F17.
Samsung is seeding the new software upgrade to the Galaxy A06 with the A066BXXU3BYI8 firmware version. Whereas the Galaxy F06 and M06 are receiving the Android 16 update with software versions E066BXXU3BYI8 and M066BXXU3BYI8, respectively. If you own the Galaxy F17, your phone will receive the major OS upgrade with the E176BXXU2BYID build number.
Android 16-centric One UI 8 update is a major OS upgrade, and so the update weighs around 2.4GB in download size. As per the details shared by Mohammed Khatri, the update bumps up the monthly security patch version to September 2025. The update is currently in a rollout phase and available to a limited number of users. A broader rollout should commence in a matter of time.
One UI 8-based Android 16 update comes with a slew of new features and changes. The list of features includes the new Adaptive lock screen clock, improved split-screen view, better display support in Samsung DeX, easier file sharing with Quick Share, Dynamic Lock screen, hide apps in secure folder, updated stock apps, improved animations, and more.
Whether you own the Galaxy A06, M06, F06, and F17, you may have already received the One UI 8 update on your device. In case you missed the OTA notification, you can check for the update, go to Settings > Software Update or you can wait for a few days for a broader rollout. Once the update is available on your phone, you can download and install it.
Please charge your phone to at least 50% before updating to the One UI 8-based Android 16 update. Also, don’t forget to back up your data just in case.
