Summarize This Article:

The South Korean tech titan has already released the anticipated Android 16-based One UI 8 update for the Galaxy Tab S10, Tab S9 series, and Tab S6 Lite. Now, the company has finally extended the update to the Galaxy Tab S8, the flagship tablet from 2022. The tablet was launched with the Android 12 operating system and is all set to receive its final OS upgrade.

Samsung is seeding the Android 16 update to the Galaxy Tab S8 with the XB00XXU9EYJ4 build number. According to the details shared by well-known Samsung tipster, Tarun Vats, the update is currently rolling out in mainland South Korea. The update weighs a whopping 3.5GB in download size. It bumps up the monthly security patch version to September 2025.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 receives One UI 8-based Android 16 update with a slew of new features and changes. The list of features includes the new Adaptive lock screen clock, improved split-screen view, better display support in Samsung DeX, easier file sharing with Quick Share, Dynamic Lock screen, hide apps in secure folder, updated stock apps, improved animations, and more.

As I said earlier, the update is currently available in South Korea; a broader rollout should commence in a matter of time. Before updating your tablet to the One UI 8 update, please ensure you have at least 4-5GB of free space.

If you own the Galaxy Tab S8 and reside in South Korea, you can now upgrade your device to the One UI 8 update. In case you missed the OTA notification, you can check for the update, go to Settings > Software Update, or you can wait for a few days for a broader rollout. Once the update is available on your phone, you can download and install it.

Please charge your tablet to at least 50% before updating to the One UI 8-based Android 16 update. Also, don’t forget to back up your data just in case.
