Samsung finally kicks off the Android 14-centric One UI 6 Beta. The next version of Samsung custom skin – One UI 6.0 will be released for the Galaxy S23 series first. Till now, the company was testing the One UI 6 beta internally, but now all users with eligible devices can experience the beta.
Google is already about to release stable Android 14 for its Pixel phones. And some other OEMs have also started the Android 14 closed beta for their flagship devices. Samsung is a bit late to the party, but the tech giant usually leaves every non-Pixel phone behind.
The Android 14-based One UI 6 Beta will initially be available to users in South Korea, Germany, and the US. Yes, it will be coming to some other regions as well, but there is no expected time. It can land later today, or tomorrow, or could take a few days. Be ready to join the beta program if you want to participate.
Samsung announced the One UI 6 Beta for Galaxy S23 users through the official Samsung Germany Newsroom website. And as mentioned in the launch article, One UI 6 is more customizable.
Update: It seems Samsung has mistakenly published the article. The company has now removed the article from the Germany Newsroom. As per the article, the beta program will only be available for Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra for now.
The One UI 6 brings a new Quick Settings look which is completely revamped and some parts of the quick settings look to have adopted the stock quick settings. Quick settings that are often used are now big for easy access. The full Quick Settings can now be opened with just one swipe down from the upper right corner.
One UI 6 on Galaxy S23 lets users apply different background images for different modes. For example, users can choose different wallpaper for Sleep mode and other wallpapers for other modes.
