Google has finally launched its most awaited flagship phones of the year. The flagship Pixel series have four models this year including the second foldable. The lineup consists of Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The new Pixel series comes with various upgrades, including the design changes. However, there is one thing that users are not ready to accept is that the new Pixel 9 series runs on Android 14 OS out of the box and not Android 15.
Google usually releases its new Pixel flagship phones with the new Android update. So everyone was expecting Android 15 to be included on the Pixel 9 phone. However, that didnโt happen. So what was the reason for Google not including Android 15 on Pixel 9 by default? There could be a couple of reasons.
We think the main reason for this is that Google launched the Pixel 9 early this year. Google usually releases its flagship phones in October, which gives them enough time to incorporate and test the latest Android OS version before releasing the phones.
However, this time, Google launched the Pixel 9 almost two months early, leaving the search giant less time to include Android 15 on Google Pixel 9. To launch a phone, they need to have it ready at least a month before the release date, and Android 15 was not ready in the stability phase.
We are upset that the phone will get one less OS update since Android 15 will count as the first major update for the device. Google has promised seven years of OS updates for the Pixel 9 series. So Android 21 could be the last major update for Pixel 9 lineup.
